Just to be clear on this, the Demodex mites that live on humans are a
different species to the kind of mites cats and dogs get. You won't catch
mites from your pets, and you won't pass your mites on to them.

Washing a cat might keep down cat dander, but won't make any different to
mites, just as you can't eradicate mites from your skin just with water. If
a pet gets mites, you need to consult with your vet for the appropriate
treatment.

No harm in washing your cat IF you happen to have one of the few cats that
like water. With any other cat, best not to bother.
