Re: [rosacea] Arbonne?

Terry asked: "Has anyone tried any of the Arbonne facial products? If so,
good results? I've been approached to become a consultant for their product
line ..."

Hi Terry,

Sandy ("rosynomo") is an Arbonne consultant, and also a Support Group
member.

Sandy is one of the very few people who have ever abided by our request that
reps declare that fact in their messages. (Well done, Sandy! :)

Kind regards,

Aurelia

I wrote her to see if she offers samples, I am kinda excited to try
her products. Lemmme know if anyone else has tried her products. I
will keep you posted to see what she says about samples, and if I get
some if it works or not! On goes the search!!

[rosacea] Re: Arbonne?

Hello Terry!

I have tried the Arbonne products as one of my friends was a
consultant. I tried even the most gentle line they offer (I think its
for babies) but right after just cleansing with their products my face
reacted with a warm flush! I washed it off right away! So I would not
reccomend them at all, but I am sure they must work for the stronger
skinned umong us!

So sorry about your eye problem. Have you visited an eye doctor? From my personal
experience, everytime I put oil on my puffy eyelids it makes things only worse. Also some

my eyes are puffy and itchy is to put the old good slice of cucumber or a green/black tea
bag for 10 minutes. So far it has been working for me on most occasions. Another very
good thing is to take cool but never cold green or black tea and pour some in a eye cup
and rinse each eye. It will help alleviate ome of the problems and help reduce the
puffiness. Also, if you are wearing contacts, try not to sleep in them. I hope the little bit i
suggested here will also work for you. Best wishes, Yana

I use the RosaceaCare serum, moisturizer, cleanser and calming lotion. I
really like them. They have reduced my persistant pinkness somewhat, and
improved my skin quality over all. The texture of my skin is starting to
feel like it did pre-rosacea. (my rosacea has always been the drying flakey
variety, not the oily, except for the sides of my nose, for some reason,
which do get oily) Their cleanser is thusfar the only off the shelf cleanser
I have used that my sensitive skin doesn't revile. I had been washing my
face with purified water only for years prior to using this. I do not
really have P&P so I can't speak on that aspect. They are expensive, but in
their case at least the quality appears to be there.

and have the usual more intense red after spicy food etc. Only spread
to my chin in the last 2 years and also started getting the acne like
postules.

I've used Metro Lotion but would like to get off prescriptions. Any
suggestions on what product lien to look at next. I've been looking
at Jan Marini and Rosacea Care.

Thanks,

Re: [rosacea] Tamara and z cream (was ponds cold.....)

Hi Tamara, thanks so much for all this. I will definitely not use the z cream I have from two years ago. I'll probably make an order this weekend. I think I want the shampoo too because my scalp has been so itchy for so long now I may as well give it a shot when I decide to start. My prescription Nizorol shampoo doesn't seem to do much now. I guess it will take a while for me since it's been over 20 years I've had rosacea. Yikes. But Brady still uses the z cream for maintenace I think. I looked in my natural health books just to see what they may have on demodex mites but that had nothing specific about them. Just parasites in general. That you could take wormwood and black walnut drops internally to help chase away parasites but I have no idea if there would be any benefit at all with the demodex. Thought I'd give it a look though. Today was better than yesterday. So unpredictable. It's getting so all I want to do is drink water and green tea an d eat eggs
and almonds. It's the only thing I am sure won't hurt me at this point. Strange life we lead. But I'd do about anything just not to feel on fire. Just getting by feels like Heaven. Know what I mean? I am sure you and everyone here knows exactly what I mean. We're probably the most grateful group of people in the world for even the smallest relief. Does anyone else come alive on cloudy days with cool breezes? New England has had the most amazing two days here. It's been between 60 and 70 degrees, but very little sun and the breeze has been just Heavenly..........would love to bottle it and keep it for all year. And the air has been moister. Very nice. Anyway, thanks again Tamara. Now send me off to sleep with the story of how much softer your skin feels...........LOL

Good night,
Elena

rose jill <roseflowerbloom@yahoo.ca> wrote:
Elena, o.k, I can tell you I have done my homework on the mites and learned alot over the few months ive been taking it, and want to help you in any way i can. First off, the shelf life for z cream is 2 years and once opened walter (from dem solution) 6 months. So if you are over 2 years, its probably best to buy another jar, the last thing you need is to have more problems. There is a post on their messageboard about this too (in case your wondering). Also, the acarid soap many have chosen over the other cleansing soap, so i would suggest to you to buy the acarid soap and the z cream. This is my opinion, you will love the acarid soap because it really gives your skin a good cleaning and keeps the mites away. Elena, when you decide to start the z cream, please only use a very thin layer on your face...and ive learned the best method because it takes time for your skin to adjust..wash with acarid soap..then put water on your face a little to go on then put the z
cream over
(the water) because it keeps it from being pasty and dry. This is a vital step ive learned, because at the beginning, yours eyes will be very sensitive (mint) strong so you will feel your eyes like crying almost..but it subsides within 5 minutes. And the thin layer of z cream is crucial over little water to moisten because its less pasty and you dont need to put alot on. Anyway, elena I am going to be on the z cream for 150 days (as ive spoken to walter about it) and then on a maintenance program (every other day) regime. I want nothing but happiness for you, and you have been through enough, I am so very confident this is your ticket too elena, and I also want to add that if you have access to a physician nearby who can also check under a microscope to ensure this before you start, this can make a huge difference too, that way you are 100% sure and there are no if and or buts about it, you know what i mean!...
Elena, the way ive learned about the mites and so on, the more severe cases take more time healing, of course it varies from person to person, but just know that for example ive had rosacea for maybe 7 years approx, so with all of the damage it has done to my skin...takes time to completely heal the skin inside out. Hang in there and please keep us all posted and if there is anything i can do to help you on your way i am here for you! luv ya lots.....tamara
p.s...most break out at the beginning and it does get worse, but this is also a good sign, because you will know you are killing these buggers and it does require alot of patience, it is a roller coaster ride, you will be dry skin, and for me at the beginning i felt itching and crawling sensations, moving, its very hard to explain WEIRD nevertheless, i also had very itchy scalp when this occured (the buggers were running)lol. Elena, you will know with your gut feelings while you are on the stough if its the mites youll see. bye 4 now tamara

Elena Mutter <emgm42000@yahoo.com> wrote:
Hi Tamara,

It sure is a rollarcoaster ride..........those were the EXACT words in my head last night as I was eating supper! Thank you for all your encouragement and letting me pick your wonderful brain about the z cream treatment. I went to the demodex site last night and I am very curious about the rest of the line too. If these mites play a major roll for some or most of us then shouldn't we also use all the other stuff too? If I use z cream and I make my face a "hostile environment" for them to live on, won't they just move to other parts of me/us? So it would seem to make sense to use the shampoo and body soap too, wouldn't it? I wonder if anyone has used them and if they are too harsh. If the z cream and acarid soap dries us out then wouldn't the shampoo and body wash too? All I know is that looking at all those products just made me imagine how good I could feel if it were all true. I am very curious about the face wash. It sounds like it would be mildier than the< br> acarid soap. I pulled out my jar of z cream that I bought 2 plus years ago when I thought I'd give it a go and could not find an expiration date on it so I don't know if it expires or not. Got a feeling that anything that potent is it's own preservative and there are no worries. Still, I am thinking I will wait until Christmas vacation. Although is there really ever a good time for this sort of thing? Probably summer when no one from my son's school really has to see me LOL..........but really it's not so much the vanity thing as it is the "getting worse before better" thing. I never used to be such a chicken but I think I have been in pain for so long that I am becoming hypersensitive and turning into chicken little over here. I was always good at taking the pain but it's the burning, heat and hotness I can't seem to take. Wish I was stronger. And then for me (don't know if any of you experience this weird little feeling) there's that nagging "okay, they say near
100% success rate and so far I have not chatted with even ONE person on line who's tried it and it didn't work for them, so this is my last shot. My last resort and if it fails. If I'm the 1% it doesn't work for.........." I don't know if I could take the crash of that. It's stupid really; I know, but we've all been let down so many times and I'm sure everyone has their own feelings of different methods that they feel are the "one", the "last resort" typ of thing..........it just feels scary to lose that hope. I've seen how disappointed people are with the lasers and IPL when they fail. It is such a betrayal; you can just "hear" it in their posts; the sadness and shock that it either did nothing for them or made them worse. Sorry, this is long. But to me the z cream and the RED LED light therapy and the diet seemed to make the most sense and I think it's just getting me a little nervous is all. I guess because for me these approach es seem the easiest and least
invassive (except for the getting worse for a while with the z cream)........safest if you will. Okay, I've rattled on long enough. Anyway Tamara, thanks for everything and let me know what you think of the other products on the demodex site and if you think it is something that is needed or do you think just the z cream? Haven't heard anyone say they ever used the other products. The cream seems to be enough.

Take care,
Elena

Ahh Geesh Elena, I wish I can take your pain away, and have all the answers. It is such a screwed up skin problem which can sometimes be so impossible to fiqure out. Elena Mutter wrote: Thanks Tamara,

You know, yesterday (Tuesday), I noticed a weird and surprising improvement. My skin was less pink/red, my eyes were doing better and I felt pretty much like I did about 2 years ago back when every waking thought was not about Rosacea and how much burning and pain I was in. Can't say I did anything different. I chalked it up to letting go of the stress. Just saying and accepting whatever my mom or husband do to me I'm just not in control of so I just won't stress about it. Honestly, I was almost walking on air yesterday................until 3p.m. rolled around. Now, I did absolutely NOTHING and I mean nothing..........but at three o'clock my eyes felt "warm", like they had a fever. The skin of my face felt "warm and flush" too. By four o'clock when denying the feelings could not be done anymore, I put an ice pack around my neck as I finished cooking supper and then looked in a mirror...........sure enough, from the sides of my nose exte nding out to my cheeks were
all pink and rosy............a flush. Again, I have only experienced two of those in my entire life and only one was explainable due to a few sips of red wine. I have no idea of what is going on. And today, (Wednesday) I am still feeling this way. I am just so down and scared and worried and sad. Is this ANOTHER new phase? Unexplained, constant, low-level flushing?? I am not in extraordinary pain but my eyes feel hot and feverish (and by the way, look perfectly normal) and my face and head are warm to hot and my cheek area is definitely pink to red. I'm so afraid that this is going to turn into the year I burned from head to toe and could not even stand clothes to touch my body! I truly just cannot take one more thing with this disease. I didn't do anything. I swear............I didn't eat anything or drink anything out of the ordinary I just can't do this anymore.....what is wrong with all of us???

Elena, yes...go to demodexsolutions.com...then you can go to messageboard and look at the posts there and get alot of info on the forum. And at the main site where it says pictures...you will see hilda before and after (one year) and look at the difference. Elena, for me my break out started on the 5th day i believe it was, and did go crazy for awhile...but these are the signs of mite activity...the break out can last a long while, and it will be a roller coaster ride(at least for me it was) and you will get weird things going on...but my eyes were the first to see marked improvement within 2 weeks. Elena, ya try to start at a time where you dont have to worry. The dryness is not easy, but it is renewing your skin. take care tamara

Elena Mutter wrote: This sounds like such a good thing Tamara. So you could actually take the z cream a little on your eyebrows and in your ears? I never thought to put the Tea Tree oil in my shampoo. That sounds like a better idea than just buying Tea Tree Shampoo and conditioner. I used it once a long time ago and was not impressed with how it left my hair but putting the oil in my Trader Joe's shampoo might be worth a try. So there is a support forum with demodex solutions users? Just type in demodexforum.com? I'd like to go there and see the pictures and hear the stories. I'm so glad you are doing so well with this Tamara! I may try it during Christmas vacation where I will have a little time when I don't have to be "seen" so much. How long before you felt human again and could be seen LOL? When I tried it last year I only did it for about a week and then chickened out because of the dryness of my skin. I'm very tempted to give it another go.
Thanks for all your help.

Elena, I know what you mean about the eyes, believe me. I swear I thought at times i was going blind (literally). My eyes were always bothered, itchy, irritated, sometimes puffy, red, and gritty feeling! it was such a burden for me, I felt so helpless. I put the z cream in my ears and on my eyebrows. I swear the bas..... are the cause of my rosacea. Also, i put tea tree oil in my shampoo for my scalp (drain the suckers for good) and i bathe in Epsom Salts (mites hate it). I feel like ive lost so much of my life, because of these hellish devils, I will drown the rugrats to death if I have to set them on fire I would lol. Elena, I feel like I can see again, and another thing, if you look at the demodexmite forum...look at the pictures and look at HILDA is her name and i have been in touch with her alot...she after one year is rosacea free...and look at the difference in her skin (amazing). Elena, I wash my linens and add a drop of tea tree oil to them, I use a fresh
towel
everyday, keep my cat away from my room now, bathe him good to (thank god he loves water). I have been in touch with many who are doing well with this z cream...some have sent me pictures with there success. Elena, if you ever do it, go slowly only need a little (buy the acarid soap and the z cream use nightly or day and evening if your skin can handle it. Pat your skin with water first and then put a thin layer (very thin) on your face, and see what happens. My eyes were greatly improved in no time! good luck tamara

Elena Mutter wrote:
Wow Tamara............100 percent improvement of eyes?!! Right now, I think that is my most troubling symptom. The last two years they are just "not my eyes".......it's hard to explain. So you didn't get the special eye treatment from the z cream people? Just using the regular z cream on your face and yet your eyes and ears are better even though you are not directly putting z cream on them? My ears are also a misery for me. Always itchy and sore along with my poor scalp. I have seb derm too so I don't know what's what half the time. Anyway, maybe I should give the z cream another try. My Rosacea did a slow crawl to where it is now too Tamara. I am going to be 47 on Dec. 18th and this all started for me at 21. It's really only been the last two years where I want to jump off a bridge from this (just kidding.......I think). That's great about your mom. You know, even way back when I was first struggling with this one doctor had the great humility to ad mit that
they just did not know anything about this strange disease and he mentioned that sometimes it does indeed "just go away". He said it is typically a disease that comes on in the 40's and sometimes later in life in the 60's or so it just goes away. But, as we all know, there is NOTHING typical about this disease. I certainly did not fit ANY of the criteria for having it. I wasn't in my 40's. I wasn't of celtic decent. I did not blush easily. I feel very jipped LOL! Thanks for all this info Tamara. A year, huh? I hope it gets continually better and better for you. Your such a dear.

Elena, my mom said she used chrestor (for her high cholesterol). My mom uses cold ponds cream every night. My sister does not suffer from rosacea. I avoid alcohol at all costs, but what i said was when we were at my sisters, my mom can now drink alcohol, while i stay the heck away from it. Elena and 3rd, so far for the z cream I have seen 100% improvement for my eyes(no longer bother me) (no longer red) My ears (no longer bother me unless I have an allergic reaction to something (which is not as often as it was). The papules, i have less but since the z cream makes you break out here and there when killing the mites, sometimes i still break out and then i notice my skin being very clear afterwards. My cheeks and nose are pink in color not red now. I still react to certain foods, and heat etc... so this is not gone yet, also walter (from the z cream forum) indicates rosacea allergic responses take a year or more to stop reacting, it is a process that takes time.
Elena, I am
still dry skin, but do notice the old skin sloughs off, and i have better renewal skin in replace of it. I am pleases so far, and have yet to see my rosacea gone completely, but going back to the way it was, I am better now for sure. I am 33 years old now, I think i developed it when i was around 26 or so not exactly sure, but it started off slowly like creeping up and then procrascinated into papules along with the flushing. I am type 2 rosacea. I have it cheeks and nose. hope this helps you.
Elena Mutter wrote: Okay Tamara, these are interesting statements. First, what is the cholesterol med your mom is taking so we can look into it. And did you or your sister (sounds like your sister suffers from this too?) give it a try too and what happened? Second, it's so funny about the Ponds. If it is Ponds cold cream then that's what my mom uses too LOL...........it's been around forever and is the "old-fashioned" stuff I think many of our moms used/use. Can your skin tolerate it? And third, you have really stuck it out with the z-cream.......I am so impressed! When you say you are 50% better, is that in all aspects of the Rosacea? Like p&p's, redness, dryness, hot burny skin and flushes? Also, if you had any eye problems, do you find that that is better too? Some people have said that even their eye symptoms got better using z-cream (not even the one they put out specifically for the eyes). Okay, those are my questions. Sorry to overload you but wouldn't it be marvelous if a
great many of us could just start using Ponds cold cream and convince our doctors to give us whatever cholesterol med your mom is on..........ah, a girl can dream can't she?

Hey guys, anyone use this? it has mineral oil in it though, is that a

cholesterol medication. My mom to this day looks fab. I asked her also
what moisteriser she uses, and she said cold ponds and loves it, will
never change. My mom is lucky, I dont want to use the word cure, but
she has been in remission since the chol. pills...she is very lucky.
My mom use to have it bad, and she also mentioned to me that since her
cat passed away, her skin is even better. WHAT! I have a cat and he is
my baby lol, my dad use to break out in hives and itch and loved the
cat too much so he suffered alot, yaaa i know crazy, he hated going to
the doctors too, it always cracked me up alot, because as soon as we
said "doctors" he would tell us to bugger off.
Anyway, it just makes me think when I think about my mom and when I
visited my sisters...she can now drink wine without flushing, I stay
the heck away until the z cream eliminates this rosacea completely. I
just wanted to mention this, i did mention this before, this is why
every rosacean is so different and there are so many factors involved.
I no longer believe that because my mom has (had) it that because i
developed it, its the irish thing and thats it. For me since being on
the z cream, I am 50% better now and its been almost 3 months on it. I
want you all to know that there is hope, and when I see my mom, she
has never looked better, and her skin cleared by accident as she tells
me...she thinks it is the chol.meds that really made her feel better
inside out, and I am pleased to see my mom in remission, as she had
rosacea for many years. tamara

I'd like to know the joules used, and how long do you find that you're bruised and/or have increased pinkness/redness. Would you say that you didn't really notice the change until 1 month later or was it noticeable sooner? I was also wondering why you didn't have a good experience with the Candela V-beam. My skin has become more pink since a full flare that started in January, and now my eyes are blood shot and sore all the time. The flushing has improved, but its still bad when I sleep at night and I feel like I'm getting pinker everday. I don't have the papules or pustules, but I do have seb derm..the skin on my cheeks and nose becomes flakey if I try to wear makeup and I'm not sure if this is seb derm or eczema or just rosacea
dermatitis. I've changed my diet a bit...although I've always eaten very healthy. I take more supplements, but nothing seems to be helping. I'd be interested to know how you changed your diet to address yeast, viruses, bacteria, and parasites. I take doxycycline (50 mg every other day) so I'm not sure thats maybe causing or at least fueling the seb-derm and skin peeling or if it has no effect. I'm a female and haven't had any female problems with taking the dox, but i do take acidophilus so maybe that's why.
Thanks

Subject: Re: [rosacea] PULSE DYE LASER

I should clarify between the pulse dye and the Cynergy 3 dual PDL+Yag. I did not have good experiences with the Candela V-Beam. I did have a great experience with the Cynergy. It has been one month since my first treatment with Cynergy, and I've noticed a substantial improvement in the visible spider veins, diffused redness, and blushing. I can find out the joules for you when I go for my second visit on Saturday. I can share with you what works for me with PDL:
I can tolerate light purpura, the treatments are ineffective and highly inflammatory for me without the purpura, and too much purpura lends itself to more hyperpigmentation and a longer recovery.

In addition to the work I have done with laser surgery, I have also completely changed my diet, addressed yeast, viruses, bacteria, and parasites in my system, and eliminated all toxic products from my life and body. I can truly say that I am on an amazing healing path with a huge decrease in symptoms(if I can call them that anymore). I would be very happy to share with you my story is you are interested.

Hi Joy,
Did you find the pulse dye treatments reduced diffuse redness or mainly just spider veins? Did you find after you healed from your initial v-beam that your skin improved at all. Do you know what joules were used? My doctor recommended it as well.
Thanks

I have had several pulse dye treatments. My initial treatment was with the V-beam, in which I had considerable purpura and downtime. Last month I had the Cynergy 3 laser which is the v-beam and Yag laser- a simultaneous pulse. The results have been great- I healed in 2 weeks, the purpura and pigmentation went away quickly and the capillaries were much less noticable after one treatment.

I WANT TO KNOW IF SOMEONE HAD THAT TREATMENT BEFORE AND HOW IT WORK?
AND IF IT WORK?

Re: [rosacea] what product? so many out there now......

I saw the dermatologist two years ago and went only to get some red spots zapped from my face. He told me then that I had a mild case of Rosacea. This flaking is a new thing and it has worsened. I will check out Seb. Dermatitis and see what it says. Thanks.

Diana, the way you are describing the flaking it sounds like you also have seb. dermatitis too. Did the dermatologist mention this to you and that sometimes it goes hand in hand with rosacea? You might want to ask him about it.

Take care,
Elena

Hi all,

I am a new member and a bit over-whelmed by all the emails and suggestions.

I just developed Rosacea in the last two years. I'm 65 years old. I don't get many of those tiny little pimples, mostly redness and terrible dry scales on my skin. The T area of my face, forehead and upper nose area. It isn't on my cheeks at all.....yet anyway. It also itches. I thought I would get rid of the scales so used the Oil of Olay derma stuff to slough off the scales. It backfired on me and my forehead is awful. I can actually take a soft brush and make the flakes fly like snow! In my eyebrows too. It's scary to look in the magnified mirror!

I thought the peroxide sounded interesting, to use topically. I know it helps poison oak on some people. I am so dry already though so I'm not sure. I do use some cleanser and calming moisturizer Eu.....something but I don't see any benefit from it. It doesn't calm a thing.

I use a makeup like Bare Minerals, although mine isn't that brand. I does a good job of covering the blemishes but I need something for the flakes and itching.

Colleen,

Hello everyone. I just found this yahoo group and have been looking
at products to treat my rosacea. I have had red cheeks all my life
and have the usual more intense red after spicy food etc. Only spread
to my chin in the last 2 years and also started getting the acne like
postules.

I've used Metro Lotion but would like to get off prescriptions. Any
suggestions on what product lien to look at next. I've been looking
at Jan Marini and Rosacea Care.

Thanks,
Colleen
