[rosacea] Re: PULSE DYE LASER

Many years ago I had the pulse dye laser. Tradionally this machine is used for treating
redness and things like port wine stains. Compared with the newer type lasers/IPL it can
have longer down time (due to purpura-dark marks that appear and take a few weeks to
go) and can also leave permenant markings where the laser has removed the redness/
broken veins in comparison to the untreated skin.

When I had it done they did it at a level that left the pupura for a month or so, nowadays
they can do it at lower levels that do not leave this markings. You need to find out what
machine they have and whether there aim is to leave this pupura or not.

Have a look at the video in this link to Dr Crouch giving a treatment with this type

Before treatment I would want to know if this is offered because it's the only one they
have, how they will treat you and the expected outcome. For me it was extremely effective
but to lessen the demarcation lines left from it I had to have IPL.
