[rosacea] Is steroid induced rosacea permanent

Hi,

I'm a 28 year old white male with rosacea. In general, I have a mild
case. There's no papules or pustules, just some redness. My cheeks and
nose aren't as red as the area around my mouth and on the sides of my
nose. The reason why the redness is much more prominent there is
because I self-medicated myself to treat seborehheic dermatitis using
a mid-potency steroid (triamcinolone 0.1%) on and off for about 8 months.

My derm. took me off the steroid immediately and put me on 40mg of
doxycycline daily, metronidazole cream (0.75%), and ketokonazole (2%).
I've been on this regimen for about 1.5 months, though the areas where
I had applied the steroid are still highly visibly red. That area is
also tight and burns when I open my mouth wide, like when I yawn.

Is this condition permament? If not, how long until I see a
significant reduction in redness? If it is permament, can I get rid of
the redness somehow? Lasers? Topicals? Orals?

Please reply.
