[rosacea] Re: More LED confusion

Pricey huh. It¢s a unit that is intended for clinical use. So a beautician would buy this machine and you¢d go in for a treatment and pay roughly $50-$100 AUS for a 20 minute session. The machine consists of a variety of different coloured heads and it slowly moves over the treatment area and has the option utilising small time periods of different colours or a full session on just one colour.

I am getting continually sceptical on all the claims made by these companies without sufficient backing evidence. I would of thought there may be liability issues involved with claims like these. How can they prove it?

I received a reply from the sales representative today who forwarded me a .pdf document which was basically a bunch of quotes from M.D¢s approving of LED therapy. It also included the original NASA study, but that was the entirety of it. I still don¢t know where they formulated all these benefits of different colours. I asked her for some more information. Hopefully that will be able to shed some light.

I agree with you artist. Of all the colours I have tried I have noticed the best results from Red+Near Infra Red. It would be great if there was a study on LED¢s that could show us the benefits of each colour, and prove the exact affect that they have on your skin.

wow 40K! Makes me feel better about my little $250 acne lamp. So far
red light has been shown to be effective, based on all the feedback
here on the support group and forum.

Cheers!
